The Net Zero Economy Authority is a federal statutory body to help workers and communities affected by energy transition.
The NZEA is holding consultations at Yallourn Power Station about support for workers affected by the site’s closure. This covers workers who are direct employees, contractors and those employed throughout the supply chain – including Yallourn mine.
The MEU is engaging with the NZEA to ensure maximum support for our members; and we want to make sure your views are fully represented.
Updates on the process will be provided to members and added to this page. There will be opportunities for members to be involved and have their voices heard in this process.
Key dates
- Public submissions: December 2025 – February 2026
- Targeted stakeholder consultations: Early 2026
By being involved, we help shape the support you receive and hold the NZEA and employers accountable for delivering it.
