Consultation for NZEA transition support at Eraring
The Net Zero Economy Authority is a federal statutory body to help workers and communities affected by energy transition.
The NZEA is holding consultations at Eraring Power Station about support for workers affected by the site’s closure, including direct employees, contractors and other affected workers.
Origin Energy has informed the NSW Government and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) that the Eraring Power Station at Lake Macquarie is scheduled to close in August 2027, although closure may be delayed past that date.
The MEU is engaging with the NZEA to ensure maximum support for our members; and we want to make sure your views are fully represented. We have prepared a formal submission as part of the Eraring consultation.
