To all of our members, both long-term and new, we wish you a safe and happy Christmas period. If you’re working over the holidays, please stay alert and well-rested – especially if you’re operating machinery.
Christmas can be a challenging time of year for mental health, particularly if you’re away working with your loved ones, so keep in tune with your feelings and don’t be afraid to reach out to a mate if you think they’re struggling.
If you’re lucky enough to have Christmas off – firstly enjoy yourself and the time with your loved ones but also take a minute to think about the workers on shift, and if you know one send them your well-wishes.
The MEU National and District Offices will be taking a short break over this period before coming back for another great year in 2026. Information on closure and reopen dates has been collected below.
- The National Office will close at noon on Wednesday 24 December and re-open on Monday 5 January.
- The Northern Mining and NSW Energy District will close at 1pm Friday 19 December 2025 and will re-open on Thursday 8 January.
- The Queensland District will close noon on Wednesday 24 December and re-open Monday 5 January.
- The Western Australian District will close Wednesday 24 December and re-open on Monday 5 January.
- The South West District will close at noon on Wednesday 24 December and re-open Monday 5 January. All admin at Kembla Grange will be finishing Friday 19 December.
- The Victoria District will close at noon on Tuesday 23 December and re-open Monday 12 January.
