National Office:

The FWC has issued a decision to amend the National Rules of the MEU regarding female Central Councillors. A copy of the decision can be found here.

Northern Mining and NSW Energy District:

The FWC has issued a decision to amend the Northern Mining and NSW Energy District rules to remove the position of District Vice President (E). A copy of the decision can be found here.

The FWC has issued a decision to amend the Northern Mining and NSW Energy District rules regarding the position of Female Central Councillor. A copy of the decision can be found here.

Queensland District:

The FWC has issued a decision to amend the Queensland District rules regarding the position of Female Central Councillor. A copy of the decision can be found here.

NSW South Western District:

The FWC has issued a decision to amend the South Western District rules regarding the District Branch Executive, the Board of Management and Additional Officers. A copy of the decision can be found here.

2024 MEU General Elections

Nominations for the MEU General Elections open on 15 April 2024 and close on 6 May 2024. The ballot period will open on 20 May 2024 and close on 11 June 2024. Notices for the National Office and each individual District and the respective nomination forms are available here:

Victorian District:

The FWC has issued a decision allowing the MEU to conduct our own elections for the Victorian District. A copy of this decision can be found here.

District President:

The AEC has completed an election for the position of District President.

Following the conduct of this election the AEC has raised issues with the interpretation of the Ballot Rules of the MEU. A copy of the post election which outlines the results of the ballot and the issues with the rules interpretation can be found here. The Victorian District has addressed these issues in correspondence to the AEC that can be found here.

Queensland District:

The FWC has issued a decision allowing the MEU to conduct our own elections for the Queensland District. A copy of this decision can be found here.

The FWC required Remuneration & Material Personal Interest Disclosures are available to members who have not received them at Lodge Meetings by contacting your District Office.
