Poitrel coal mine – QLD
The Mining and Energy Union has today filed a Same Job Same Pay application in the Fair Work Commission covering labour hire coal miners at Poitrel open cut mine in Central Queensland.
The application covers about 300 WorkPac employees at the mine in Coppabella, which is owned by Stanmore Resources.
Once an order from the Fair Work Commission comes into effect it would lift pay of labour hire workers in line with the terms of the Stanmore Poitrel Mine Enterprise Agreement and deliver pay rises to labour hire workers performing work on roster patters covered by the Agreement.
Boggabri coal mine – NSW
Last Friday the Mining and Energy Union made a Same Job Same Pay application in the Fair Work Commission for labour hire workers at Boggabri open cut coal mine in the Gunnedah coal basin.
The application covers about 50 One Key labour hire coal mineworkers employed at the mine.
Once an order from the Fair Work Commission comes into effect it would lift pay of labour hire workers in line with the terms of the Boggabri Coal Operations Enterprise Agreement and deliver pay rises to labour hire workers performing the same work as directly employed workers.
